“After a lifetime of this, a miracle is what you deserve.”
I was in the car praying that I be given peace and comfort in my own home. That every one of my family members find what ever it is that gives us strength to be ourselves. That we all want to come home, that we can all be happy. That we can all be one.
When I got home, I grabbed a bite to eat and watched “Ghost Whisperer” on dvr. The line at the top of this page is what a ghost told Melinda – the one who sees the ghosts.
Is this part of the sign I asked for? Am I going to get my miracle too?
Melinda’s been through many hard times because her “gift” isn’t always a happy one. Nevertheless, she perseveres, always trying to do what is right and good.
Her husband, Jim, died in a previous episode. He hung around as a ghost, then consciously decided to jump into a freshly dead man’s body. When he woke up, he was “Sam” – but he didn’t remember anything. Not his name from a few seconds ago, not the name he now had, not his family, not Melinda, not anything.
Sam came from a controlling family. Sam’s younger sister was full of rage at his parents, and his parents were blind to what they had done to the children and to themselves. Sam felt at peace when with Melinda even though he didn’t know her.
Melinda was able to get through to Sam’s parents, telling them they may never get the son they had back. She said that that may be a good thing. They were getting a second chance to be parents. They didn’t have to make the same mistakes.
Sam decided to move into Melinda’s garage. He feels like he loves her, she knows he’s really Jim. Even though Sam has to become a fresh person – start completely over in his mind – Melinda gets to be there for him while he does it. She gets her miracle.
Will I be able to watch Will start over? Will I get to love him again?
