Kim Cooper’s List – Possible Responses to Verbal Abuse
I am a fan of narcissismcured.com because of Kim Cooper. She was able to turn her marriage around even while living with her narcissistic husband. I am uncertain whether Will is narcissistic, but I am certain he is abusive toward me (and loads of other people, but I get the brunt of it). Even now.
Only a minute ago, while reading Kim’s list, he came into the office and asked me to show him how to clean the stove. He doesn’t really want to know how to clean the stove, he wants me to clean it. Now.
I told him that I didn’t want to show him right now, that I would clean it later. He went back to the couch muttering something about how my priorities were f—ed up. I wish I had read Kim’s list so I could have responded in some constructive way, because I really wanted to say SOMETHING.
But I didn’t. I ignored him. And tonight, at 11:44 PM, that may have been the best thing to do.
