Carolyn’s Abuse Testimonial
Carolyn wrote an abuse testimonial a couple of months ago. I hadn’t posted it yet because I didn’t really want to think about my own abuse. That wasn’t fair, and I’m sorry Carolyn, that you waited so long.
As you read through it, think about the years Carolyn has lived with this verbal, emotional and mental abuse. The time it takes you to read the testimonial is nothing compared to the years she’s spent living the abuse. I got a knot in my stomach realizing that many of the abuses she reports were happening in real time even though she was listing past abuse.

The other I day I mentioned to him I had seen a garnet ring in Costco I really liked as our anniversary is coming up. Its not real expensive. His comment was ” OK I will buy you the ring IF between now and our anniversary you learn how to use the weed eater and you will do it my way like I tell you and I don’t want to hear any goddamn lip from you !” Wow. I have been having to do all the lawn mowing and yard work because he is now physically unable to. Whenever I mow the lawn he watches me like a hawk and criticizes how I do it. I could hire a gardener to do it but to save us money I do it myself, yet he still attacks me. He criticizes his grand kids when they do it and he criticizes the gardener we have had do it a few times. No one does things perfect like he does ! I have hesitated using the weed eater because its just one more thing he will be on my ass about- I don’t do it good enough.You would think now that his physical condition has deteriorated he would appreciate all my help-but no. As for the ring-what kind of gift would that be ! I don’t even want it now–every time I would look at it I’d think of his words and what I had to do to “earn it”. I ‘ll buy it myself ! F*ck him ! Something strange has happened over the last year-he has various medical issues but one of his problems is he has developed a constant burning in his mouth-the doctors cannot figure out what it is. I can’t help but think that it is God’s way of dealing with him ! All these years his mouth has been an instrument of torment to me and now he is being tormented with that same mouth !
